Recent trends indicate a resurging interest in locally-sourced and home-grown solutions for those life essentials that most of us currently obtain through a reliance on distant organizations; whose ingredients are obscured and mysterious; whose cost (monetary, environmental, and personal health) outweighs its benefits. A renewed interest in re-adapting traditional processes and methods, perhaps with modern considerations, allow us to save money and reconnect with the products we use every day.
A bar of soap made at home costs little, but characterises a value much greater than its store-bought counterparts. This journal intends to detail those basic, environmentally-friendly, and health-conscious ingredients from which the Essentials of Life may be cultured--their nature, their uses, and the methods for applying them in daily life.
